Moldovagaz says purposefully keeps excessive gas in Ukraine

CHISINAU, Nov 23 (PRIME) -- Moldova have intendedly kept some gas in the Ukrainian transportation network because of low demand during warm weather and the impossibility to store excessive gas, Moldovagaz CEO Vadim Ceban said on Wednesday on his Telegram channel.

"Moldovagaz did not have the opportunity to deposit the gas unclaimed by the country's consumers in the first half of November, while to refuse it in conditions of limited gas supplies from JSC Gazprom in the proportion of 51% of the volume envisaged by the contract would mean to create an irreplaceable deficit for the second half of November, and some gas was temporarily kept in the networks of the Ukrainian transportation networks and was reflected on… the stations of Alekseyevka and Grebenniki," Ceban said.

Gazprom said on Tuesday it would start to reduce gas supplies across Ukraine on November 28, if a misbalance of gas transmission to Moldova noticed by the company was kept.
